Slight case of Oopsie doo!

Hey guys, I'm sure you've noticed all the graphics were removed from this site and the main website is down as well. That is completely my fault as I forgot to update my credit card info which pays off the monthly service fees on my server provider. Everything should be back to normal either tonight or tomorrow. Sorry for the inconvenience! lol-Nar!

Re: Are you in or out?

I could have made a post that mirrored yours Nar. There has never been a lower point in the history of sequential illustration other than when Charles F. Murphy went after comics in 1954 and the comics code was started. But, up until then, artist were bailing left and right as they did could not get paid, sales were down and they were being labeled as destroyers of the morale fabric of America. The problem is, at least in the U.S. the medium has been milked, strip mined and thusly left to the ides of dabblers and the unprofessional masses. This is in direct correlation to the invent of mass media, social networking and the ability of anyone to make a logo, a FB page and moniker themselves, "Dopeshow Comics" and BooooM, they are publisher. This has harmed the business a great deal. If you look, most of the original rebel artists. I.e Image and so on, the have retreated back into the shelter of large serious publishers. This has bred an unprofessional "me me" mentality, so if you are going to make it, you have to keep that enthusiasm, and basically be a one man band. No one wants to work with anyone else, they just want the accolades of being in the business. I think we are on an upward trend. I think if people do keep a positive outlook, and make their own opportunities , good things can happen. It is a much less exciting, social and rewarding venture at this point. So the term in or out was very appropriate. I think that other countries have a much better grasp of the medium. Places like Brazil, Spain, The Philippines, and Japan are all on the cutting edge of things. Studios , titles, and companies are flourishing. But, we have been this far down before I suspect a great rebound. So, if you love it, hang tough! It can and will get better!
