Anyone into Silent Hill or Resident Evil games?

I love these freaky games!!! My wife Elaine just got me Silent Hill Origins. I haven't played it yet because I have too many cards to draw, but once I'm finished this set, I'm going to take a week off and play. :rockin:

Not a fan of Resident evil games (I tried but they aren't scary or very fun for me) but I LOVE freakin Silent Hill.

I watched the movie and thought it was crap cause nothing made sense so I decided it must be continued from the game. I ended up buying silent hill 2 and I love it! I want to get the one for the 360, but I also want to get the first one and the room one (takes place in one room).

Then you definitly need Silent Hill 2. If I still have my copy I'd be willing to trade it for a card emoticon It's for the original xbox. Not sure if I still have it though.

If you like horror games Tony you need to check out "The Suffering" from xbox. Creepy and it'll make you jump. The sequel not as much but the first one will give you the heebie jeebies...make sure to play it at night...by yourself...in a big open area...with the lights off...or are ya chicken?

edit: can't find silent hill 2

I have The Suffering: The Ties That Bind for the PS2. That's a really cool game too! I had Silent Hill for the Dreamcast. I gotta look to see if I have Silent Hill 2. I doubt I do.

Re: Anyone into Silent Hill or Resident Evil games?

Resident evil scared the shite out of me as a kid when I watched my brothers play. I've sorta played a couple times but never a hole campaing. I just tried the demo for RE5 and my god its beautiful!! But Im afraid I just can't stand the items systems!!! All that combining stuff just gets on my nerves. And you cant run whilst aiming!! I'm pissed I dont like those aspects, cause the rest of the game seems really cool. Oh and I wish you could control the kicking and helping stuff, cause just pressing square when the screen tell you to, is sorta lame.

Other than that, the only other scary game ive played is Bioshock and well, the Condemmed 2 demo. I love dirty bloody stuff!!! But some of the games are just too scary for me. Ya know, the jumping out at you out of nowhere enemies and such. My heart just cant take that kind of anticipation stress!!

I did like the look of the r5 demo but it's the third person aspect that kills me. Not a fan of it.

Tony, Ties that bind was the sequel..."The Suffering" is a ton better.

Okay, then I'll have to hunt the first one down.

Kate, I love these games that scare the crap out of you.

Resident Evil is awsome. Played every game in the entire collection. Not a fan of the Outbreak online crap but the regular third person games are awsome!
Resident Evil 4 was revolutionary and other games after used Resident Evil 4 as reference. Resident Evil 4 was the first game to do "from behind and over the shoulder" camera in a 3rd person game. Examples of games to follow this gameplay is Gears of War 1 and 2, Dark Sector, Army of 2 and Mass Effect. Its Also the first game to put you in the video cut scenes by making you press buttons to make the right reactions (dont say God of War was first cuz it isnt) Examples of Games to follow this direction is God of War 1,2,3 and Chains of Olympus, Spiderman 2,3, and Web of Shadows, Heavenly Sword.
Anyway, i loved all the Resident Evil games. There is nothing out in this world created by man that scares me so i dont play Survival Horror games to get scared, i play them because the action and story are usually top notch in these games.

Silent hill.... i played all these games (except home coming) but i find them to be boring. They arent very action packed really, more just running and dodging.

Condemned 2 is a freaky game that was hella fun.

Bioshock was creepy and really extremely superly fun with a great story.

F.E.A.R. was really freaky because of the constant ghost whispering in the background and the crazy evil Alma and it had a cool story too.

Left 4 Dead is the craziest game I've ever play.

Dead Space is gorey and fun with a not so good story.

"D" (old sega saturn PSone game) was kinda cool for its time...boing back to play it shows how lame it was.

Alone in the Dark...played all of them since the first one....i havnt played the newly released one yet tho.

Cant think of any others right now.

Law, you liked Condemmed 2 a lot? I've been hesitating about getting it. But if you loved Bioshock and you love Condemmed2, then Condemmed 2 should be, as you said, hella fun.

Fear is a game I dont think I could play because I would be left with the fear even when I wasnt playing. Its sounds stupid and I know its stupid, but I just have trouble getting that kind of spooky out of my head and I end up having even worse nightmares than I already have on a nightly basis! I'm sorry Tony... I just can't do it!!!! (insert crying emoticon that is not yet available in the faces options)
