Can't focus- Trouble with building on drawing foundation.


Havin serious issues studying. I'm fine drawing my own stuff bt when it comes to reading and studying anatomy, proportion, etc., my brain is like blah blah blah and I hav to get up. I feel so ADHD rite now. Any suggestions???

See if you can find the same/similar lessons in video format. Words are static, boring. But actually seeing somebody doing it is much more stimulating. Start on YouTube, then you can consider moving up to buying videos (of the more professional variety).

If you have no real choice but to stick to the books, try playing soft music. Nothing so loud as to distract you, but just enough to occupy the "periphery" of your thoughts (so they don't drag you away from what you should be focusing on).

Third option of course, is to see if there are any life drawing classes available that you can get to.

Thanks Rex, good advice. I bought the "Structure of Man" DVD's but I'm trying to do some needed book studying too. I mite have to stick to short 20 min periods of study or something when using the books.
