"Unfortunate Event"

Hello all.

First off, I hope everyone is doing great.

OK...

It is with tremendous regret that I must inform everyone that we will not be releasing The Seven Revelations: Series 1 sketch card set
on December 15, 2010, as promised due to the following reason.

Just yesterday, my business partner had sent me high resolution scans of Paul Ballard's sketch cards (which looked wonderful) and became quite curious about his work when we noticed a slight grainy quality to them within the colors which we've never noticed in other cards before. And after reaching Ballard for answers, my business partner found out that the art itself was actually printed on the card (as Paul admitted to us). And not actually hand drawn directly onto them, which is what we required every artist to do.
Although he did use colored pencils, washes and markers over the printed art to make them unique, this wasn't something our company could accept and regard them as "sketch cards" or "art cards" etc.
I wasn't sure if this was the usual process Paul uses for all his beautiful card work in general but I did know that our company's
ambition lies behind an artist's ability to draw really great sketch cards, directly on the card stock themselves without the aid of computers or printers etc...

It's the way the rest of us do it and I strongly feel everyone we hire must follow suit. We also do not allow for any duplicate art or "dupes" in any shape or form. I mean, our company logo alone, puts us in a very tough position to ever be flexible to such practices.

So.. even though, the gorgeous art Paul produced was in fact original, meaning he didn't trace it and was indeed wonderful to look at, the whole
"printing on card" aspect goes against our needs/standards/policy and thus forced us to make a very harsh decision and not include his
cards as part of our sketch card set. It would not sit well for us and we strongly believe fellow artists and collectors throughout may find trouble accepting it as well.

So, this forces us to push release date further out to February in order to reach the card quota again. Considering the month we're in, I highly doubt (nor would we want to force) any artist to work through Christmas time. Thus giving them till the last week of January to turn in their cards. We also want them to take their time and deliver their best work.

I understand the issues come up with every production and this is my very first venture in running my own card business.
I hope that everyone can understand how hard my partner and I are working to put out the best production possible.

And no matter how hard the challenges get, I promise, I'm going to see this through. We will emerge victorious.

Now... Due to us pushing this deadline again for the 2nd time, We decided we will be open to refund anyone who wishes to get their
prepay funds back, no questions asked. Emails will be sent out to all who placed an order. Forcing our supporters to wait longer is unacceptable.
And I know this topic may upset or disappoint some but honestly, these things do happen.

Refunds can be issued out as soon as a week from today.
However, If you wish for us to hold down your funds until our official release date in February (no later!), we can still do that but don't
hesitate to email us if you need your $$$ back. And if we do issue your refund back, we can't guarantee any specific numbers of packs will be available by the time they're officially released. So say if you originally put down for 20, once they're released, we may only have 10 available, etc. My business partner is in charge of this area so if you'd like
more information on it, she can give it to you asap.

We WILL be releasing in February for sure. There's no questioning that. We have just about everything ready to go and we're not fooling around here.

I know that pushing the deadline doesn't make me or my company look good but I will sacrifice my merits to make sure
that this company delivers top notch all the way through.

A note in regards to Mr.Ballard. Please understand that we show no grudge, anger, frustration towards Ballard. We still love his work
and we believe in allowing every artist to handle their craft in their own special way. This by no means discredits Ballard's ability to draw directly on cards. Because I'm sure he can.
However the process he used for these cards, are not allowed through our doors. Our set really requires artists to draw directly on the cards from scratch.

Personally, I imagine if collectors found out about it.... well, it would definitely put us (as a "top quality" company) in a very difficult spot considering what this particular company preaches. And by we, I don't mean just my partner and I, but also every other artist/creator on the team who worked hard on their cards.

That is all ladies and gentlemen. emoticon

I am so very sorry about this. Thank you for being patient, supportive and having faith in us.

We'll make this right. We'll see you in February.
