Great to see you in here again man! I know we've all gotten a bit busy over the last couple of years but kicking it with friends, well, there's just nothing like it, even though it's in a cyber way.

I don't mind opening up some restaurants every now and then. Kinda lets us escape from our daily routine. Course, I know we all cant at the same time but that doesn't mean we can't make exceptions to entries right?!

Busy haha yeah and trying to be more guarded. I got a bad taste in my mouth one too many times so I had to put the spoon and jar of rotted meats away. Life's also changed a lot for me in the last year and all for the better. emoticon

I may play with the idea of a restaurant emoticon

I'm not sure what's going on. I just woke when I wrote that but I do know if I had a restaurant it would serve burritos and for you they'd be free as long as you ate 5 larges ones a day during the week and 10 a day on the weekend emoticon

Rather than kill the forum, might I suggest less boards sections please?

On bigger forums it is necessary to have lots of categories so you can find stuff you are interested in, and new topic don't get bumped off the front page instantly by 100s of people posting.

But here I think less would certainly be more.

I know I'm guilty of not being around that much either, but when I do come by I mainly check General Chat and The showcase board. Having to dig through other categories for a couple of new posts a month is just unnecessary. It would be better just to have all the posting focused on maybe 3 board (5 Max) that way they would be easier for people to see and reply to.

EDIT: Okay looking through the whole topic I see this has already been suggested. In which case, I'm in favour of less board sections. I was actually going to suggest it ages ago, but I didn't want to come across like one of them 'always criticizing' people >__>

I agree with you Smackster. Change is coming soon. I'm redoing the whole layout with it too. This layout was designed to hold all the threads like it is but you're right. It is totally unnecessary to have so many threads going when I could easily just combine them all in a few topics.
I like the sound of that. Perhaps if this forum becomes overly populated and demands are made for expansion in categories, I can accommodate that later.
I plan to launch my website on my birthday (aug 23) and with it, the new forum change. And Smack, I always welcome feedback.
Especially feedback with some tact involved. heh. So don't ever feel you have to keep a lid on it. Whether or not I can make changes to whatever it is, will ultimately be up to me but I still treasure your thoughts since I'd like this place to feel most comfortable for you guys.
Perhaps making it smaller will bring us closer together. Like shrinking the size of a mansion, down to a trailer park home instead. lol.

As long as there's at least 2 bathrooms, because... you know... I think we've all heard the rumors about BadApple's bathroom habits...

Re: Should I kill the forum?

Personally, I use this site more than any of the before mentioned. I have a Facebook and a Deviant Art account. I rarely use Facebook and D.A. I just visit from time to time. But idk, to me its like B.A. said. Facebook and Deviant Art just seem so anonymous or something, Im not sure the word. They're great for displaying your work but when it comes to actually getting to know other artists and learning from one another this site has made a huge difference for me.

I've met some great people here and have learned a lot. This place is smaller yes, but like B.A. said because of that its been easier for us to get to know one another and each others individual styles, even give more specific critiques focusing on each artists certain strengths and weaknesses. It's just a more close nit group and I'd hate to see it go but change is the only constant.. I really do like to think of it as a family because as I said, I've met some great artists here. Their encouragement, and maybe even more so their critiques, have helped me continuously push myself forward. I'm far from where I wanna be but the things I'm working on now, the exercises and practices, are largely thanks to you guys.

I hope things pick up here but whatever happens I just wanna say it's been great. More importantly I wanna say thanks Nar for all the help and encouragement you've given me, thanks to him and all you other guys. Means a lot, and all you guys ROCK!!
