Re: P.D.U. Prophetic Dreams Universe *Updated Periodically*
Great choice of angle here bro. It's not an easy one to pull off but you did ok here. Not sure how you approached it, whether you did it all by eye or laid down a structure first but for angles like these, if you ever have trouble with them, always best to use simple shapes on your figures first on a structured grid to really help you push the dynamics further. For instance, his head is tilted so we can see the top of it which makes sense for the angle, as well as his feet. But his torso and maaaybe his leg on the back, are facing the viewer as if it were a flat surface shot from the front and not so much from up top. The way to get around this is by first drawing all his major parts, arms legs, body, head, as simple cylinder shapes. At that point, you may notice the shapes will dictate how the muscle lines should curve so it matches the angle/perspective you're working with here.
From a quick untrained glance, this piece works. But longer than a sec, and these little problem areas do start to stand out more and more.
Drawing in 3 dimension shapes first will also help you with your foreshortening as well brother. And don't worry about it much. You should have seen the mistakes I made in the past with my work...eeeeesh...
It just takes time and practice.
Side from that, this looks rad!

I started with a thumbnail first, then blew it up when I got it how I wanted it. I used a lightbox to start the full image etc.. Looking at it now I think I see what your saying. I know I still have to work on my foundations and underlying structure, but I'm pushing man. I'll get there eventually. N thanks Nar, means a lot.

Don't even worry about it. I know you'll get it. I've always had issues in that area (and actually..sometimes I find myself straying every now and then). It's a lot to remember sometimes but it catches on eventually. ;-]

Re: P.D.U. Prophetic Dreams Universe *Updated Periodically*
I need to ask you a question. Please do not take offense to this. Are you drawing with your piece on a flat surface with it a bit to your right side (or left side if you're left handed)? I'm beginning to think you might be left handed though. Reason I am asking is that I am noticing that a lot of your figures are leaning off to the right. Try drawing with the piece directly in front of you and tilted/angled up a little bit. It might help with perception. And you'll be able to see the entire piece a lot better.
Your doing very well!! Your poses and figures are dynamic! And honestly, that's something I'm trying to work on myself. It's not easy!! Keep it up!!!

To Jenchuan, no I do not take offense to that. I know exactly what you mean and it has been mentioned to me before actually. It's something I'm trying to rectify. I think it's because I have a bad habit of turning my sketchpad or board slightly whenever I'm drawing. Thanks for the suggestions and encouragement, they're all much appreciated. I am working on everything though.
