The X-Files looks more and more likely to return to TV

I'm currently going through season 8 with my girl and we're still hooked, although we do miss Agent Mulder.
I've recently stumbled upon articles (whilst trying not to read spoilers, especially from the comments section)that state there is now talks about possibly bringing the X-Files back on tv for a limited run.

The source link here

If this happens, I would be so happy. ....and scared.
The X-files was such a fascinating show with a tremendous legacy that I'd hate to see it go flat in a new run.
So far, David D. and Gillian Anderson, both expressed interest in the possible return.
Anyone here an X-Files fan?
Makes me wish I could find a time machine and travel back to 1993.

Love the show! Always have. It had a certain charm to it. I'm a person who likes to believe in the impossible. I think they did a great job with the show. Not sure how a second go around would be though. We shall see!

Twin Peaks already has a contract/guarantee to be revived, and Duchovny starred as a transvestite in that show. He also said he'd love to reprise that role. It's obvious if he had to chose he'd chose X-Files, but I wonder if he would do both roles if he could...

I heard of Twin Peaks. In fact, my girl brought it up two nights ago and showed me David as a woman. lol. I had no idea.

Joe, I'm with you there. My girl and I are really into the show since we caught it on Netflix, back in October.
Now we just can't get enough of it. Almost done with the entire seasons which makes me a little sad. The season in which Robert Patrick takes over as Scully's partner, John Dogget, is actually pretty good. I was afraid the show was going to go down hill since David left, but as it turns out, they've been pushing out some very interesting episodes.

I think there's a lot of potential for X-Files in our modern time. The internet playing a huge roll in our lives now, I feel there's even more conspiracies flying around, outside of the usual government stuff.

I hope they run with it soon because any later and the cast will have either passed on, retired or just gotten too old for even a small run. I'm crossing my fingers because I want to believe!
