King of Fighter's XII
Is 2009 the rebirth of 2D Fighting game's or what?? First Street Fighter IV, Then in June the revamp or Marvel vs Capcom 2, and I just found out about The King of Fighters XII!!
I never played The King of Fighter's when I was a kid, just Street Fighter. But I do own Capcom vs SNK 2 which is a sweeeeet game! The new KoFXII is freakin' beautiful... 100% Hand Drawn art rendered over 3D Sprites (Kind of like SFIV, cept SFIV is more 3Dish).
This game will only have 20 characters (apparently that's a small size for a KoF's game according to IGN, the home version has 2 extra character's announced so far.)
What bother's me is... there's no Mai!! I'm like what the heck?! Hopefully she'll get announced for home version as well.
Check out this video in HD: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pEnBY2IFvCU
There's also another 2D Fighter coming called "BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger". I don't know a darn thing about it, but it's from the same makers of Guilty Gear, I owned Guilty Gear X2: Reloaded and it was a very weird, but neat game.

Re: King of Fighter's XII
KoF I could take or leave. This does look good (although they used to say Geese at the end of 1 or 2 was the cheapest final boss fight of any fighting game, EVER).
I was always on the fence about this and Samurai Showdown. I'd throw a few quarters into either, but still preferred SF or MK.
If it wasn't for my own backlog on games (I have quite a few here I haven't even touched yet, or just barely touched), I'd consider getting a Gamefly account and putting this on the rental list. Still, the demos we can download save me a lot of money in the long run
